Nothing says more about a guy than his wallet. After all, it is probably the thing you carry with you most. When you go out on a first date, you do not want to pull out your wallet to pay (like a gentleman) and have to unfold the Velcro wallet you’ve had since you were eleven. Nothing says “I’m slightly immature and don’t have a penny to my name” like a Velcro, fake crocodile or crazy embossed wallet. Believe me when I say that women pay attention to the details. It’s time to man-up and start using a real wallet, the kind that has hand stitched leather and is made in America.
Mr. GLP carries the Front Pocket Gentleman’s Wallet by Over Under (shown above) which he featured in a previous post. It has been wonderful for summer trips as it is lightweight and fits neatly in his front pocket where it is far more difficult to lose or have it stolen. It’s also made in America and the shotgun shell is a unique touch. However, I can’t wait to purchase one the following options for him to use on a day to day basis. They are so beautifully constructed and yet more manly wallets could not be found. The leather used to create these wallets is produced by Horween®, a company based in Chicago. I recommend checking out their blog where you can view the tanning process through the exquisite photography and receive a lesson in all things leather.
Disciple Wallet in Shell Cordovan No 8 by Barrett Alley ($175) *Be sure to check out their website and take a look at their page on Conscious Consumerism, it’s top notch*
In it for the long haul, these wallets will not only last but will stay on point from year to year. The ladies will appreciate it, but I have feeling you will too!
