It’s always great to see new brands embracing the “Made in the USA” ideals and one of the most popular categories of made in the USA products is bow ties. North Carolina, with it’s history of textile-based industries, has become a hotbed for bow tie production lately and now a Midwestern-based brand has turned to our southern neighbors to produce a new collection of bow ties. Here’s a look at the Summer 2012 collection ($29.50) from Luxley & Bernard.
The new collection features seven cotton bow ties all hand-made in North Carolina. The patterns range from madras to checks to dots to squares and even include a rarity among cotton bow ties, a print pattern. The following are my favorites from the collection.
Pink and orange madras perfectly represents the setting sun on a sultry southern summer day.
A bright green bow tie with the added interest of a subtle plaid that’s perfect for summer.
Pair this one with a seersucker jacket and white bucks for a quintessential summer uniform.
