About a month ago my wife and I took a road trip out East. It was the first time in New England for both of us and we crammed as much into one week as we possibly could. Along the way I was able to pick up a few items made not only in the USA but made right in New England.
Dock Square Clothiers in Kennebunkport, Maine had a variety of products from Southern Tide and Leatherman Ltd. but I eventually settled on a 5 Sporting Gamefish ribbon belt made by YRI. The Portsmouth, New Hampshire based company produces a variety of custom products, including belts, sandals and gifts. The navy blue ribbon with it’s fish motif pops against the white cotton webbing while the leather tab adds just a hint of formality to the belt. There’s intricate detail on each fish and the belt is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
In Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts on Martha’s Vineyard, we stopped at Good Dog Goods to pick up a souvenir or two for Wrigley. The ribbon collars and leashes by Preston immediately caught our eyes. Each ribbon collar and leash in expertly handcrafted in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Selecting a matching American Flag collar and leash ($19.95 each) was a no brainer. Preston prides itself on its attention to detail, something that’s especially evident in all 50 stars showing up on the design. The blue ribbon and the red cotton webbing allow Wrigley to show his patriotism 365 days a year.
