As the seasons shift it’s time to transition to more warm weather fabrics. Seersucker, madras and linen are some of the most well known, but be sure not to overlook chambray. This light weave fabric tends to resemble denim, but unlike a pair of blue, will keep you cool during the summer. One option for adding some chambray into your wardrobe is the James shirt by Jack Robie ($125).
At first glance the James shirt looks almost like your typical OCBD at first glance. But upon further inspection you’ll notice it’s fashioned from soft but durable Japanese Chambray. Wear it like your favorite oxford, dress it up or dress it down. It’s finished with all the finest details, including natural troca-shell buttons, and is available in three colors (blue, lavendar and yellow). To top it off, it’s made in the USA. While you’re pulling the seersucker and madras out of storage this summer, make sure there’s some chambray mixed in as well.
