A bow tie post on a Tuesday? No, my prolonged vacation has not caused me to forget what day of the week it is. Rather, I have stumbled upon something so awesome, so innovative and so exciting that it can’t possibly wait until Friday. If you haven’t heard about it already, let me introduce you to The Cordial Churchman’s 366 Bow Ties.
The Cordial Churchman has introduced a brand new project unlike any other I’ve witnessed before. Andy, founder Ellie’s husband, will be wearing a different handmade bow tie from The Cordial Churchman each day of 2012. Each bow tie will be available to purchase as the bow tie of the day and will come with an authentication of the date it appeared in the project. Of course, The Cordial Churchman doesn’t carry 366 different designs (although if you consider the multiple forms each design comes in I’m sure it would come close), which means several one-of-a-kind bow ties will be appearing throughout the project (like yesterday’s bow tie converted from a scarf by The Hill-Side). You’ll have to pay close attention if you want to snag one of the one of a kind bow ties because once it’s sold, it’s gone. It doesn’t get any more limited edition than that.
While the premise of the project is exciting and innovative by itself, it actually gets even better. Although the details are still being worked out, The Cordial Churchman plans to donate all proceeds from Bow Tie of the Day sales to “an exciting, reputable charity that changes the lives of impoverished young people in the developing world.” With a goal of $10,000, this unique project will not only produce a ton of unique styles but will also make a difference in the world. It’s amazing ideas like these, coupled with an excellent price point, unique designs, made in America ideals and personal touches, that put The Cordial Churchman at the top of my list of favorite bow tie brands.
