New England has Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.  The South has Pawley’s Island.  You would think the Midwest would lack our own iconic island due to our absence of an ocean.  You would be wrong.  Michigan actually has the 9th longest coast line in the United States and located just off the coast of Northern Michigan in Lake Huron is Mackinac Island. Cape Madras Bermuda Shorts

Makers Mark 46 Bourbon Whiskey

What do you get when you take a delicious small batch bourbon and enhance its flavor by introducing oak slats into the barrel near the end of the aging process?  You get the delectable combination of rich, creamy seared-oak flavor mixed with caramel and vanilla that is Maker’s Mark 46.  I was lucky enough to receive a bottle as a wedding present and got to taste this potent potable.
