It’s Bow Tie Friday once again. Those of you in the know may have already figured out from my subtle hint on Twitter yesterday that I will be discussing a bow tie from Southern Proper today. And for those of you who didn’t pick up on it, I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite brands, Southern Proper. Today’s choice is the Regatta Beau ($55).
Emmie and Reagan started Southern Proper in 2005 in order to create a line of clothing that complimented the southern gentlemen’s courteous manners and sweet humility. While our geographic location in the North excludes us from technically being southern gentlemen, I feel that these qualities have not been lost in the Midwest. While Southern Proper is specifically known for their wide range of Beaus (their name for bow ties) and Gents (neckties), the also have t-shirts, pocket squares, shorts and other items we will surely feature in the future.
The Regatta Beau is available in three colors, red, green and blue, and features a repeating pattern of boat shoes and sailboats. We aren’t sure if a bow tie can be anymore prep than that. So while you enjoy another Bow Tie Friday, consider heading over to Southern Proper or any of their retail partners to pick up the Regatta Beau or one of their other 39 designs for future Fridays.
