Normally when you think of a belt, you picture a fairly bland black or brown leather one. While that is fine and appropriate for most situations, I prefer to have the belt as the focal point of my outfit every once in awhile. When I want to break the mold I turn to Smathers & Branson’s selection of Traditional Needlepoint Belts ($165).
Started by two college roommates in 2004 who received needlepoint belts made by their girlfriends and then realized it was nearly impossible to find needlepoint belts elsewhere, Smathers & Branson has grown to offer over 70 designs. Each belt is 1.25″ wide and is finished with full grain, chestnut colored leather. My favorite styles are the American Flag (just in time for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July), Beer Cans and the Mint Bill Fish. If for some reason you can’t find a design you like, Smathers & Branson also offers custom options. Not only are Smathers & Branson’s belts top-quality, their customer service is as well. While the belts are only stocked in sizes 28-44, Smathers & Branson is happy to work with you if you need something outside of the normal range. So, add a little color to your waistline and you’ll be sure to set yourself apart from the crowd.
