Last week I was down in Alabama on business and had the opportunity to check out a couple of men’s shops. This was a great opportunity to actually see a lot of the brands I write about up close and personal. Unfortunately you don’t find many of these brands (or good men’s shops for that matter) in this area of the country. Naturally I had to check out the High Cotton Ties display while I was there and used this as the perfect excuse to pick up a new bow tie. After much debate I opted to go with the Leighton Cove ($45).
The Leighton Cove, a selection from the Fall 2011 collection, is one of the newest bow ties to grace the store displays. It’s dark blue and red plaid pattern makes it perfect for the more subdued hues of autumn. It’s made from 100% American-grown cotton and this self-tie bow can be adjusted to fit necks ranging from 13 3/4 to 18 inches. The cotton simplifies the process of keeping this bow tie in pristine condition. Instead of taking it to the dry cleaner, all you need to do is toss it in the washer set on gentle and then tumble dry low. I already wore it last Bow Tie Friday into the office and received quite a few compliments and I’m sure you will as well whenever you wear this bow.
